Castle speaker driver cone seperated from spider

After putting up with a worsening buzz/distortion from a couple of drivers in my Castle Howard's i took one out and found that the cone and driver had completely seperated on one unit and partially seperated on the other -

After checking a couple of previous posts i got thinking, and this is the dangerous bit for me, that I could simply glue them back in place with this stuff (shamefully pinched from a warpurgis reply elsewhere) -

Is it simply a case of seperating the cone lip and spider as best as possible, brushing the glue on and letting the cone and spider rest together again until dried (maybe overnight)?

Would the two parts need something to hold them together until dry?

Do i need to be mindfull of the voice coil (the spider and coil are solid together)?

Is this glue ok to use for this application?

Any help would be great.

From the photo it looks that the rear spider is detaching from the chassis.

You can use Aleenes glue to deal with this, I'd try and centralise the coil in the gap then tack the spiders to the chassis with very small spots of glue in three equally spaced places then check for free back and forth movement before glueing all the way round.

In fact, you could even try the battery trick first by connecting a small battery across the speaker terminals, this forces the coil into a concentric position.

Aleenes stays tacky and can be moved around for a while, check final position after maybe eight or ten minutes.

I've used Copydex latex glue for this in the past, repairs lasted for years.

ATC used t use Araldite quick-set to glue coils to cones.

thanks fpr the replies. I've got copydex somewhere in the shed so if i could use that it would be great.

yes i does look like the spider is detaching from the chassis. On the photo of one driver it has completely detached but left the the same cone material left on the chassis.

It left me thinking the cone has splitting from itself or from the spider - trouble is my knowledge of speaker anatomy is sketchy so I've attached a photo of the other driver which has not completely split.

Any further help identifying the problem would be great because i'm a bit doubtful of attaching a battery to move the coil
