View Full Version : Mint Cartridge Alignment Arc Protractor for sale
These dont come up for sale very often but due to switching to japanese tonearms mine is surplus to requirements.
The mint protractor is very accurate and easy to use,the 2 sight lines take away any doubt in aligning the cantilever .This one is for any tonearm that uses 211mm mounting distance,ie linn, zeta etc.
A google search will tell you how good these are.
It comes with full instructions and magnifying glass.
£70 including postage.

Might be worth contacting Yip as I think these are specific to the turntable and arm combo they are made for, and may well not be as successful on other deck/arm setups even if the pivot to spindle distance matches.
They are though fabulous, well made and will get you 100% spot on set up.
Unless I’m being thick I can’t see what difference a turntable would make?? It’s pivot to spindle that important isn’t it?

I would check with him, its my understanding he makes them specific for turntable and arm combo, so yours says Pioneer PLC590 + Zeta. I may be wrong, about this but having tried various protractors on my Technics1200 + Jelco 750 I could get none to work, until I got a Mint Tractor for that turntable arm combo. Fire a quick email off to him and ask, no harm in that and we all learn from it.
I will check but IMO it’s the arm mounting distance plus the over hang that create the arc,Ie it doesn’t matter what turntable it’s on.
A reply from the manufacturer yip,
dear Jamie,
the Tractor will work on tonearm with 211/229mm Mounting Distance and Effective Length.
Please note the spindle hole may not fit all turntables.

Yip
