I agree ,it was a good day, always good to see everyone.Thought it was a good venue - just had to be careful of the "bouncy castle" floor.Ken's active Yamaha's and Alan's r2r were impressive but the 301 was worth turning up for on it's own.Roll on the next meet up - Mick

Great day Steve, the staff made us welcome and the food, and beer was great :D

Only issue was the TT placement and cone flap, my Revelations had a good workout:rock: Glad their maker was there to enjoy them with both the DIY NCC300:drool: and the tricked out Naim 250 (it had a Naim case and transformer, but that was it )

It was a Koetsu Rosewood Signature attached to Moerch DP6 tonearm both added to my 301 that was put together last year by Mark (Divedeep dog) who made the plinth as well ..The phono stage was a Paradise (4 box) built meticulously by Simon Clarke...It is a match made in Heaven..The attendees love them both...
Mind you Alan Trowells R2R sounded sweet as usual ,it never fails to impress.
A Good time was had by all !!

Ken Wynn's system was all digital. Streaming via his laptop. There was also a superb sounding Pioneer PD9700 cd player. A lot of music was played through this system throughout the day.

Was this a secret event. Do we have to guess what the gear was in the pictures and what it sounded like?

Yes, yes and adequate:ner:

From my memory,
Pioneer pl590 TT with Micro Seki 505 arm, Denon 103
Garrard 301, Moerch DP6, Koetsu Rosewood. Corian and ply plinth built by me.
Paradise phono stages, first was 2 box, 2nd was 4 box with Calvin buffers.
Big silver mono blocks, Avondale NCC300 built by Alan T
Naim amp Avondale special, NCC220 with HCR200 regulators.
Speakers with 2 woofers either side of Tweeter are Avondale RMS Revelation 2's, a rare beast with steel cabinet ported down the integrated stand and external crossovers.

Yeah, another excellent get together, Steve. Good to see the regulars and some new faces. Like you, I now need to go and buy some of that music I heard. :)

A big thank you to everyone who brought speakers, amps, TTs, R2Rs etc, especially as you had to lug them up a flight of stairs. Without you guys willing to take the risk of bringing some nice gear we wouldn't have a day like this.

Roll on the next one!

Great day Steve, good call, nice to see some new faces, to me anyway and ones I'd not seen for a while.
Great tunes, nice to hear what other folks are listening to.

Highlight for me was those old Avondale speakers and more recent Avondale power amp with Mick's valve pre and Micky's 301 TT. It worked well, discussed this with Barrington at the time and we agreed it was the best sound of the day.

Thanks Alan.

I am SO looking forward to hearing that, would love to be able to bring my CDS1 to compare but that’s not likely unfortunately.

I’ll not sleep now until NEBO!

Hi Alan, disappointed you can't make it this time,it's always the highlight listening to you R/R (with your "impeccable" choice of music;) ).We will have to badger Steve to arrange an "11" on a date you can make it. ...Cheers Mick

Alan Towell is indeed one of the best reasons along with Mick Rick and the other long term frequenters of NEBO to keep things ticking over. They are a joy to be around. I am sad Alan can't make it he is an inspiration and helped me out on more than one occasion with his vastly superior knowledge and skills. Only a couple of weeks to go now and i was originally worried about my contribution with regards as to what to take along. I am still contemplating my Vincent phono stage and me old Sony DD? Who's bringing speakers?
