New speakers have arrived, so we must bid farewell to our beloved PMC GB1...

Cherry, no fading. Complete with all accessories (spike feet, plinths, grilles, original packaging, metal jump links, all of which are on top of a cupboard but if you need photos it can be done)

I've only ever used them with no grilles and no plinths, so there are felt pads on the bottom which I can either leave or remove.

Jumpers I made with fairly expensive Black Rhodium cable which I can leave on or not.

There are a couple of small marks which I only noticed just now when looking them over carefully. Pictures attached.

£425

I drive the M4 into South Wales (SA43) from London tomorrow every couple of months on the rare off chance anyone wants them delivered over that way.

(I'm now away from home until Wed 21/11..)

Otherwise pick up London N1, listen, drink a coffee etc... or by arrangement I can drop off or even ship depending where how when, etc etc.

We have really enjoyed owning these.

Robert

"The strengths of the GB1 are many and its weaknesses are few.

It has amazingly articulate bass for such a tiny speaker.

Its small size also means that it can be placed rather inconspicuously in most rooms. Compared to some of the larger speakers that I have had in my system, the GB1 was not particularly placement sensitive and sounded very good in a variety of locations."

I use GB1is, which are almost identical. I got them after spending years trying to find speakers under £1500 to better my Mission 752 Freedoms, which were well-rated by a lot of folks back in the day. As you say, bass is impressive given size.

At this price they're thoroughly bumpworthy! Good luck with the sale.

PeteSimilar story to why I got them. I figured we'd have to spend around £1000 more to get a worthwhile increase in quality. They've been very happy being powered by an old Rega Brio 3, then more recently a Croft. Thanks for the bump, Pete!

NOW SOLD

... to a forum member, it was a pleasure to have you round Limin and we hope they being you as much pleasure as they did to us.

Now, has anyone got any good banana plugs going spare for him? Or even some half decent speaker cable sitting forgotten in a drawer that could do with a nice home?

The wire he's using is pretty basic stuff. It was really some banana plugs I was fishing for for him... I think he's going to get some decent cable sometime in the future...

Thanks for the hospitality Rob. It was a pleasure buying the speaker from you, as you spent time playing different kinds of music to ensure I was happy. You even made a coffee!

I have been playing music non-stop since I came back. Lovely sound. Currently they are connected to my basic Yamaha amp. I hope the Naim Superuniti I purchased second hand would arrive soon. Look forward to the moment PMC is connected to NAIM.

Oh yup, cable is a bit basic for now. I purchased them from Richard sound several years ago. If anyone has banana plug or even half decent speaker cables, let me know :) happy to buy them.
