All depends what you mean by best buy - Oli's SPOTFIRE interconnects are better than most at any price imo.
In a cheaper band, at about £10 for a 1.5m pair Hitachi LCOFC cable is hard to beat. Not sure if it's still available.
Chord Silver Siren is a step up from that at about £40 used a pair. Very nice. Definitely a sweet spot in their range.

CarboKab 225 are very good, partner with good plugs and at around £50 ( DIY) pretty difficult to beat in this price range.

MauroThere is a loan pair of the SPOTFIRE currently doing the rounds. If you join the loan list, you can try them with no obligation. Just a bit of feedback.
Cable Solutions on ebay.
Made from Canary cables and connectors.
I am very impressed with what they can do at low cost.

15 amp mains cable wrapped in tin foil to stop interference, only 🙃
Seriously the Best Buy I made for an interconnect is Eccose Conductor http://www.ecossecables.co.uk/ecosse_analogue_interconnect_conductor.html interestingly they are now only £40 and I am sure that I paid at least £60
A few years back, I also have a pair of nu-diva which are very good but a bit more pricey.
Then there is always these.

In various parts of my systems I use the very reasonable priced cables from a company called UGreen and have found them to be excellent.

They are very nice for sure , hardly budget minded though. There must be a reason no prices are listed?
Most likely up there with Audio Note UK Sogon . or more.
Spill the beans Mike, how much per meter for there best set? The Gaia ?

That is a bargain.
The problem is the OP asks for 'best buy' not 'budget'; so what is a best buy for some is grossly overpriced for others.

I have a Yannis tonearm cable. Would normally make my own, but I bought it out of expediency. Can't say I was that impressed by the build quality.

Count me in , that is a fantastic price! Thats under $20.00 USD!
Some years ago when Marco was more vocal here, Mark Grant cables (around fifty quid for a metre pair) were very highly rated. I stiull use a couple of sets here and there and actually rate it even higher with a clip-on ferrite fitted to each. I know 'we' all move on and the replacement home-made Klotz MC5000 is now a bit passe (it's a tad livelier than AC110), but tell you summat, if you can solder, you can make up a great cable for a fraction the price of new, dealer bought stuff (dealer margins on cables are often very high).

Those £15 EDGE cables have always looked interesting - I have just now invested in a pair. Be interesting to compare with my current choices.

"Best buy" is always very subjective. Personally, I would not buy from a brand like Rega/Chord and others, who add 400% to the build price. Effectively for a £100 cable, you are getting £25 worth of material.
For me, that's not a "best buy"
There are manufacturers out there using RG316U which is about £2 per meter and charging £200+ for a 2m pair of cables. It's atrocities like this that give hifi a bad name.
Best value is always DIY although I'd avoid Klotz like the plague. Terribly veiled.
If you can solder, get some MSAudio plugs and a couple of meters of Mogami negflex and have a great pair of cables for about £30.
They will be better than the price suggests.
As I said, you're welcome to loan the SPOTFIRE cables doing the rounds and see how they compare. No obligation to buy, just give them some feedback.
In fact, give me a shout and I'll make you a pair of Mogami if you need something cheap and cheerful.

Hi Adam, any idea how they compare to the Spotfire? I need some cables but can't test either before purchase... Is shielding ONLY advisable between SUT and phono?

Hi Adam, any idea how they compare to the Spotfire? I need some cables but can't test either before purchase... Is shielding ONLY advisable between SUT and phono? You don't really need a shielded cable between digital components and I've used plenty of cables like that between a cd player and preamp for example.
Where it did have an effect was between turntable/SUT/Preamp chain. Terrible hum.

Thanks for the info Oli, have you also tried the Duelund cable? Any impressions? It seems rather well thought of..
This cable here https://www.hificollective.co.uk/wire/neotech-nei-3004-interconnect-cable.html with a decent set of plugs on is probably all you really need.
I am interested in trying the Deuland(?) to see how that performs.

I can't really judge it based on that but I didn't go and buy any. If you want some made, give me a shout, I'll have a look at it for you.

I've seen that cable used before Kevin and the maker adds on quite a hefty markup . I'm afraid I wasn't keen on it and sold it on . After trying hundreds of cables I'm still using the Klotz MC5000 which still sounds excellent in my system .

Yes . I've heard the Spotfire a few times and still prefer the Klotz . Horses for courses I suppose .
