Knowing that a few members occasionally post on this forum, could anyone tell me what's happened since it appears to have been removed from ProBoards?

No idea why it's gone but it's disappointing. Maybe Andrew didn't have enough time but yes, a shame

Lots of the reasons to keep that forum going but I suppose the membership didn't grow as quickly as one would like.

One of the last places left to sensibly discuss certain brands. When owners of other forums are pressuring the Audioaddicts members about Their use of the Forum, I think it showed a real insight into how much of a threat they saw it as. Lots of REAL truth on there. Now lost.

Maybe another forum with the same quality content will arise!

AA didn't exactly require much input from Andrew, with only 50 odd members and maybe half a dozen posting regularly. Membership is naturally slow to pick up on new forums, I'd guess it can take a couple of years or more for real momentum to start picking up, even on a well liked site.

Shame it's gone, assuming it's permanent.
