For Sale: Mordaunt-Short MS400 speakers.

MS400 from Mordaunt-Short, EMI-Marconi 13x8, Kef T15, Coles 4001 supertweeter. Matched pair with same serial numbers.

They really are in good condition with few marks to spoil the cabinetry- they have survived their 40-something years well. The worst thing I can see is some flaked-off black paint on the stand portion of one of them- easily covered up.


Fabric velcro covers are both good too- one has a slight parting of the fabric through age but it is minimal, the other has some small stain near the bottom which may come off- I haven't tried to remove it.

I remember when I got them I checked that all drive units were working-including the Coles (at that point 18 months ago I could still hear to 17kHz).


I took a lot of the above pictures with the flash on as it accentuates any flaws or issues. More pics available.

Absolute bargain IMO. I love mine to bits.

With the right partnering equipment they can produce a beautiful sound. Particularly good with female vocals.

Using mine with EL84 amplification and RPi/DAC combo.

Work really well in a small room.

I have to say it, but those speakers are worth at least that in parts, Coles wanted for Spendors and B&Ws etc. good 13x8 are getting expensive.
