So I bought this 8 years ago and it's been sat there unadjusted since it came through the door. I left the heavy platter and belt (square profile) on for at least half that time and then decided it might be better if I took it off so the springs weren't worn, no idea if this was right or not. I boiled the belt as it slipped a bit and its seems to work nicely again.
However the springs feel tight and the chassis doesn't float nicely, if you press down it doesn't budge unless you push harder then it jerks to a new position (but floats a little there). I bought a little round AT spirit level and it's not flat.
So do I need new springs or can they be refurbished in some way like the belt? And how do I get inside, I've never done it before?
Thanks again for any help!
