Ok in for a penny... my Durham sell off continues... I've had this nearly 10 years and its probably had under 250 hours in that time as it's been in my second system. I.bought new JJ power valves and Shuguang (like for like) 6SN7 equivalents when I bought it. The Sovtek 6922s seem fine. 4 and 8 ohm taps. A few marks, mainly on the transformer covers and near the power switch. The latter was from the cover slipping off in storage.

It sounds beautiful, a classic modern EL34 sound, punchy and more flexible with speaker types but with nearly all of the valve magic you expect from lower powered valves. I bought the later Consonance Cyber 100 Signature as an upgrade a few years ago. It didn't hang round, it had very rolled off highs and a more classic warm sound, I tried a few different valves to no avail, so this stayed put. It's just not getting enough use though so it deserves a better home. Btw it sounds lovely with the A1s also for sale!

£425 collected from Durham by arrangement in the near future with a holding deposit please.

Like the speakers this could be withdraw at any point...

Oh it's 40wpc and manual bias for each individual power valve (the best system IMHO) and I can let the buyer know the instructions I got from Opera.

Doh could be the quickest FS ad withdrawal in history! Didn't realise how sensitive my new speakers are to changes upstream, the preamp (I think) is getting shouty so I'll have to keep this until I can bring another pre up to try. Wow this amp is nice...

After much reflection I think I'm ready to let this go. It's certainly the best valve amp I've owned and it's as good as or better than some very well respected ones. It also scales well with good NOS valves. Still £425 collected from near Durham.

Might be interested if it was London collection, I'm in Brighton.

Doubt I'd be able to get it down this year, we've got a carful already and I usually get the train up. Tbh I'd probably want £495 if I had it in London but just need a quick collection up here hence the price.

That’s right! I’ve fattened out his wallet and now the amp is plumping up my ears.
Nice to do business with you Lawrence.

No doubt when I'm missing it I'll be thinning out my wallet by more than that to get something that sounds as good..

Hope you like it
