My actual system needs more gain due to new low sensitivity speakers. This passive buffer was built by an expert DIY'er looking for components quality and less about cosmetics. List of components:R-core trafo,Zfoil,Takman,Shynkoh tantalum,Mundorf, Nichicon, Wiring with PTFE dielectric Ag-cu .

The volume control is done with smd resistors with continuos regulation, its therefore smooth being not stepped.

A low noise cooling fan was installed to keep operating temperature low as this is the turbo version of Nelson Pass.
I underline this is a DIY product not available commercially.

Sell for 225 English Pounds or Best offer+30 shipping. Its quite an heavvy unit hence this ship costs, sorry...Although passive need to be powered on. Paypal or Bank transfer at your choice Power cord not included.
Sounds perfect !

Same feeling here STD, I think he just used a disposed case just to try the sound quality. I know he decided to make a new one with some mods and hence he sold this to me.

Would love to have listened to a valve version of the dcb1
So glad you agree on the build quality but that won't affect the sound
Running at 600ma you have approx 26 watts to dissipate

Good luck with the sale

Steve

I suppose you could call this a valve version, it is a valve buffer:

I dunno - it has to do something with DCB1 or it's just any chinese tube buffer.

A valve buffer would be an interesting experiment.

well a real problem with such one is that it needs to be DHT based if you want an ultimate sound. given that these buffers are usually a product of so called DIY community, that's clearly a deal breaker as 99.94% of those simply can't make it. or those who could, they claim all the buffers sound the same - because their enthusiasm mostly ends with soldering, measuring and when they connect the unit to confirm it works. this is where all the action stops, unless it hiss, buzz, rumbles or smokes, you will seldom find someone tuning it to perfection. who would deal with all the problems associated with DHT. i am quite shocked that the DIY community managed to get some damn fine DHT preamps done, but i would rather say it's 2-3 individuals.
