View Full Version : FS SD Acoustics SD1. Classic floorstanding speakers, black, vgc
These are a Steen Doesing design.
Tall but compact.
Ribbon tweeter, mid and 2 bass units in each speaker.
They are so easy to listen to and enjoy ~ fatigue–free listening!
These are in good condition, 7/10
All drive units are excellent and full working order.
Grilles in good condition.
No boxes. Collection from Bournemouth please.
445 pounds.
Thanks for looking,
Paul24533
REDUCED : great speakers for 375 pounds.
Update:
These are actually the OBS model, ie open baffle system.
The ribbon and mid units are mounted on a baffle with grilles on the front and back.
That all must help their airy and smooth qualities.
(l would keep them if l had the space.)

My father had a pair. They are heavy speakers indeed! Collecting in person is essential!

I also had a pair of OBS'some time ago driven by a Beard Valve mosfet amplifier(VMI 70).
Very open and detailed sounding. They are smaller and more room friendly than the SD Acoustics SD1.

I currently have a pair of SD Acoustics SD1's. I have had them for 30 years and love them dearly. The mid and bass drive units need repairing, I have some parts on order but I'm not confident in repairing them. In the event that i cannot repair my SD1's are your SD Acoustics OBS speakers still available? Many thanks, Steve
Thanks Steve.
Provionally spoken for, but please PM me at the end of May if you're still interested.
Cheers, Paul.
