DAC input question

I have an upgraded MF X-DAC which does a great job with my Cambridge CXC using the coax input. Is it possible to use the redundant optical input for the TV?, obviously not at the same time as CD or would having two devices plugged into it cause problems. Any thought greatly appreciated.

The coax and optical are independent of each other so yes!
