Or condoms
Or underpants, although there maybe some who might disagree.....eugh!
A load of bollocks, I've bought almost all those things second hand (except shoes and surge suppressors) with no problems.
Their next one about the Royal Family is complete bollocks too.

Actually yes I have some jump boots that are army surplus and still going strong after a few thousand miles over thirty years of use. So that bit is bollocks too.
Absolute utter crap
With the exception of the surge protector I've bought everything on the list
What kind of idiot made the list ??

Just what is wrong with second hand shoes?
A Dutch friend of ours lost his father a few years ago. He wore the same size as me in just about everything. He was a wealthy man and I now have the quality of wardrobe - including shoes - that I could never hope to have afforded.
The shoes I have worn regularly and because of the quality, show absolutely no sign of wear.
Better to have quality second hand items than the usual rubbish that is about these days.

I would say that it is not about hygiene with shoes but rather about ergonomics. Our resident foot expert will know the truth here, but I have always thought that one reason for not buying second hand shoes is because the first user has shaped them to their own feet and gait. I have really wide feet (Size 10 4E) and within a week or so of breaking in a new pair of shoes, I doubt that there are fit for any subsequent user outside the circus!

As most of the shoes I see are so flimsy as to be virtually invisible, I doubt they would take any form but floppy. Maybe I was lucky but the ones I have were extremely comfortable and a perfect fit from the word go!

Headphones, I just couldn't put on second hand headphones, I would be thinking there was something in them that would crawl into my ears. Gives me shivers thinking about it.

It does have two sides you know. People who ignore this are doing the planet no favours. We Ponies are sticklers for hygiene, that's why we have his'n'her rolls...
Not quite applicable yet but when brain transplants become readily available I'm advised it will be best to opt for a female donor as it will have hardly been used.

My God. Could you really live with the inability to drive properly or make quick and sensible decisions about anything? And the constant checking yourself in the nearest mirror will seriously piss your mates off. And then there's the tears at the slightest excuse................

I still miss my loo from when I lived and worked in Northern Vietnam. It was a Japanese loo that on pressing a button had a nozzle emerge which directed a stream of body temperature water to the seventh planet!
This combination of toilet and bidet drastically reduced the amount of paper required to complete one's ablutions.
Very eco friendly, and quite energising on those mornings when the coffee has yet to kick in !! :bog:

The Japs are way ahead in bog technology. Coloured lights, fountains, perfume spray, heated seats, bidet built in. Can you even buy that stuff here?

I hated the heated loo seats they have in Japanese toilets. Could never find a way to switch the heater off. Everything else was optional. Never came across them when I was in Vietnam.
Any yes you can buy all that stuff here - it's very expensive.
Just go after the wife...that heats it up nicely...after Marco is a no-no..[emoji1787]

That probably explains why I didn't like it - subconsciously thought someone else had sat on the seat shortly before I did.

The ones I have seen have banks of controls that would not be out of place in an aeroplane cockpit, that's what I'm after :)

There are even models that siphon off some pee to do basic health tests!

Yeah needs a headphone stand built into the side of the backrest. :D
Bit different from the lavvy we had when I was a kid, right down the end of the garden path, next to the coal shed. carrying a bucket of water down the icy steps from the kitchen was a nightmare in mid-winter. The only saving grace was if you got caught short in the back lane you could nip through the gate into anyone's bog - some even had fresh newspaper in.

I was definitely spoilt with my Cao Bang loos! Aside from the heated seat and water jets, the process ended with a warm air drying!

So you missed out on the shithouse chic.
We were so hip. So cool. Those were the days. :D
My friend's mum and dad, who live in the far north of Scotland, about 50 yards from the sea, have a modern bathroom and an outside bog. Dad uses it every morning, while looking out to sea and across to Harris with his binoculars. I've used this bog but avoid the binoculars.

I must have had about fifty used CD players and have never come across a dud. Maybe just lucky :).
Often don't travel well by parcel post. If in their original box they have a good chance. That said most Ive had have worked

Yup, they should bring 'em back together with National Service. That would sort a few of these crazy kids out. And anyone with a loo installed under the stairs (and I know one or two) should be deported to the colonies. It's just wrong.

I've bought three used CD players over the years, and they have all arrived without incident and operate flawlessly. The latest of which came from Poland and is the player I now use.
In fact I can think of only twelve items of audio gear I have bought new and only half those are still in (occasional) use today.
95% of my audio gear is second hand.
