Yup, Recently had to vacate my oblong shaped room ( great for base ) to a small, acoustically difficult ,10ft x 9 ft square jobbie !.
So, fitting my 638 Tannoy floor standers ( super buy recently on eBay for 100 notes ) was always going to be a bit of a ticklish problem.
Anyway after various experimentations I settled on a diagonal set up with very near field listening, getting great results as sound is now filling the V shape
behined the speakers into the corner of the room superbly. Also works in bigger rooms as well I.M.O. Anyone else tried this ?

still, thats some size of jobby;) Not tried that.. alas i have mine shooting across the shorter, wider side as the other way would present other issues for livingroom. it works well enough although very bass rich speakers can get boomy. I solved this by building my own.

Never tried that layout. I have my pretty big Tannoy Cheviots in a room 10ft by 11ft and the system sounds great.

Its VERY near field though, 1. 5 mrs. Speakers breath a bit more with better soundstage me thinks. It always amazes me when folks discuss firing down or across a room
but never diagonal ?. Realise in some rooms thats not possible of course.

If you're near field it doesn't matter so much. I've done diagonal but only when I had a difficult room with no clean sides
