I now have the means to stream music using my Arcam CDS50, however my usual way of assessing music is as follows;
download using Apple music so I can listen to the album in the car or walking around, if i'm interested I will then probably buy on vinyl. The Arcam has its own music app which is working but will only play music that I have ripped from cd to iTunes , it won't play anything that has been downloaded from Apple Music( of course could be operator error).
I also buy some some music directly on vinyl.
just wondering what would be the best route re- streaming, preferably one that will still give me access to my iTunes Library.

My iTunes Library is currently on my MacBook Pro, although I was toying with obtaining a NAS.
Hope the above all makes sense.

You need a UPnP server setup on a computer or Nas.

The Arcam will playback of the following file formats, over disc, USB and network:
FLAC up to 24 bit/192kHz
WAV up to 24 bit/192kHz
AAC up to 24 bit/96kHz
AIFF up to 24 bit/192kHz
OGG up to 24 bit/192kHz
MP3 up to 320kbps/48kHz
WMA up to 192kbps/48kHz

Most people's music collections are in FLAC format.

Happy Days.

From what I understand from your use of Apple Music, you will not be able to play dowloaded Apple Music files on a non Apple device. They have DRM and can only be played on a device signed in to an Apple ID that is subscribed to Apple Music. Of course, if you have the original files, then you can play them via the Arcam, provided that they are in recognised format.

This seems reasonable as you have only rented access to the files. Otherwise you could just download thousands of files and then close your account.

You may be able to use a CCK to connect digitally from your Apple device to the Arcam.

Most every NAS has DLNA server built in.
