For sale a Linn Trampolin 2 base plate. I bought this about 2 years ago and never got round to using it. The seller said it had never been used and the pictures seem to confirm this. £120 delivered.

Hmmm. Got an 1983 LP12 (45xxx), any idea if this would fit that?

I’m not sure but why not ring a Linn dealer tomorrow and ask ( maybe act as if you would be buying a new one from them) - not sure if I should be saying that. But I can’t see why it wouldn’t. Meanwhile someone might read this and know the answer.

Get in touch with these guys for a quick answer : https://theaudiofiles.co.uk/service/

They fettled my LP12 four or five years ago and I upgraded to an Ittok at the same time.
The guy's brilliant, very reasonable and it's not that far from you - Crowthorne is inbetween Farnbrough and Bracknell.

If your plinth has corner braces (large triangular plywood inserts) it shouldn’t be a problem as plinth dimensions haven’t changed since they were introduced. Non braced ones are before my time but even then there shouldn’t be a problem.

Thanks for the info, will take off the baseboard and have a look.

You don’t have to take off the base board. If you shine a light from above you can see the corner braces through the gap between the plinth and the armboard. If you don’t have a braced plinth then I would recommend you look for a nice second hand one as they are quite a bit more dimensionally stable than the older ones.

I can’t see what difference it would make whether the plinth has corner braces or not. The corner braces just make the plinth more rigid but that’s presumably also the function of the Trampolin base plate (aluminium instead of hardboard).

The braces don’t make any difference, it’s just that I know your Trampolin would fit one of those plinths and I’ve never fitted one to a non corner braced plinth so it’s just about possible the base board rebate is slightly different on the older plinths (it probably isn’t though).

Ho hum, my one is unbraced. Shame you're not nearer, am guessing would just need to offer the Tramoplin up to the plinth to see if it actually fits.

Or you could just measure the rebate.

I’ve got a similar deck to Tankertop so I took off my hardboard base and the Tramp fits perfectly. i’ve also sent him some photos with it in place (but not screwed up of course).
