View Full Version : HELP PLEASE with ncc200 boards to replace naim boards
Hi guys i was wondering if one of you clever electronicy type fellows could give me some advice please.
Iv just aquired some Avondale ncc200 boards to replace my Naim ones (thanks Ian) but unfortunately the spade connectors on the new boards are 6mm whereas the Naim ones are 2.8mm. Apparently you would need to specify when ordering from avondale which i was unaware of
Can i just snip off the existing female connectors and crimp these female terminals pictured so as to fit onto the new tags??
Just want to check before i start butchering a perfectly good amp.
Thanks a lot
Karl

Hi again guys, maybe you can just confirm that i have got these wires the right way round before i turn it on???
The top line is self explanatory but on the bottom row the red and bare silver wires are stacked on top of eachother on the new boards rather than side by side on the naim boards. Logic tells me that the SIG IN is the
red wire and the SCR is the bare silver silver ?? Just want to make sure that the red and silver are the correct way round.
Thanks again

Finally got her fired up gents and all i can say is EFFING WOW!!
A huge upgrade from the naim boards. A much more natural presentation, bags more detail , very open .. i much prefer thos already.
Im listening to Jonathan Wilson, Gentle Spirit album... a must have for any audiophile.. its AAA and sounds absolutely stunning.
Goosebumps when the opening acoustic guitar kicks in.
Thanks for all the advice.

Mate it really is ticking all the boxes so far.. ive ordered the ryan sound lab boards for my 72 pre aswell, which by all accounts turns it i to a very serious pre amp indeed. Hard to believe it can get much better than this. . Im loving it
