Hi all.i was having a look for some info on Brahms speakers the other day as I worked for the guy who made them after he went out of bussiness and Google directed me here.im 59 male and been into hi fi for most of my life..did a bit of time as a hi fi salesman (owner of above)in the late 70s early 80s with the usual Japanese electronics/British speaker systems..then realised I didn't need all the buttons and switches and eventually got a Valve amp after listening to a Cary amp. my current system is a silver night 300b 7w s.e.t stereo amp and a naim cd3.5 CD player ruark prologue speakers and rel q50 sub.due to moving about and spending most of my time abroad I haven't had much time or a good place to set it up permanently so it stays in storage at my brothers(8yrs so far).ive been out of touch with the market as regard the more modern exotica but I do like a simple classy look.thats about it as far as I can say in an intro without it turning into a novel.many thanks for reading and hopefully I can learn a bit from the others on here about anything to improve my system in the future if I ever get it back and up in a room of its own again...jim.

I also have a Silver Night 300b, which has been away for a bit of fettling by one of our super-talented members. Can't wait to get it back! Your system must be really sulking by now, and can't remember if it was meant to be a hi fi or a teasmade. :D

Hi.ive often had it remarked on as looking Like a coffe maker.when I say it's an amplifier people laugh and then I've sat them down and and had a listen and they can't believe what they've heard.love it when people sing along and realise they've been singing the wrong lyrics all them years.its got a little flaw that needs a little tap or shuffle of one of the valves to stop a crackling noise but it hasn't got worse..(or better)..over time.ide love to hear of any component mods I can do myself,I'm ok with a soldering iron and freshening it up and solving the probable dry joint or faulty base at the same time will just make me want to keep it for many more years to come.i bought it used with no idea of the valves age but I was in love with it the moment I heard it next to my quad 44/ 405 system it replaced.i had a sondek lp12 as vinyl end with a naim 92 but soon got rid of it and the preamp for a direct through cd approach.the interconnect cables are nothing special but hand mad after a good amount of time with various systems and price taken in to concideration.any mods/upgrades will need a cable and valve change to fully fettle the whole setup but I'm in no rush at the moment cos of the lack of a place to fully enjoy it.look farward to your opinions and ideas when you get it back..jim

Hi.cheers for the welcome.im a bit of an anything and every thing sort of person.main stuff is pink flood,Mike old field,vanngelis etc.i do like a bit of big Band,boogie woogie and older jazz and soul style stuff.dont think anything anything has happened in music that's worth too much of a comment since the late 80s except maybe a few exceptions so I stick to the music that I grew up on in the 60s-70s that now I can fully understand now I'm an old git..I listen to a bit of classical stuff but harpsichord and violin stuff is more my preference.do like a bit of the old bands like Zeppelin ,black sabbath and the like..pretty varied tastes I think.good music won't die..just the artists so we should enjoy it while we are alive..jim
