I wouldn't mind seeing Snoop Dog on the Friday and Faithless/Steve Wonder on the Sunday. Not sure about U2 though. Nothing in my music library from them...

You can go there and have a great time and never see any bands. There's so much to do.I think this will be mt eighth in a row.40th anniversary this year too,an extra day of music.

Looks like there's only a couple of bands I'm interested in so I'll give it a miss. I'm going to Download and one day of Reading though. Tons and tons of awesome rock/metal. :guitar::fingers::band:
Can't wait.

Who is appearing?

My festival days are long over. I shall be an armchair attendee - though to enhance the experience, I could always erect a tent in the TV room and queue for the loo!

To ensure total realism, you'd have to block the loo as well.

Yes, that thought did occur to me. :( There are however limits to the extent to which I will go in trying to recreate the experience. Maybe, in lieu, I'll wear welly boots for the three or four days of Glastonbury .

The toilets are actually pretty good these days! (As these things go at least)

That was only one part! It's hard to appreciate the size of the festival if you've never been.I remember talking to a bloke that year, staying in a tent. His girlfriend and him were sleeping on a double blow-up mattress. He woke up in the morning with his nose about an inch from the top of the tent. They had floated gently up during the night as their field flooded! :stalks:

I may stick an ear out the window to see if I can hear anything. I may even amble up the Tor with my binoculars.

But mostly I'll be watching it on the TV - with the Zu's it sounds just like being there anyway :eyebrows:

You'll be paying a lot of money if you haven't got tickets already for this year as it is already a sell out Butuz. I'd hold fire and go for 2011, unless you have money to burn... :)

It'll sound better than being there, the broadcast sound is always better than the stage sound at open air gigs, especially with the Zu's;).

Not been since '85, it was too 'commercialised, not like it used to be, man' and ever so slightly muddy. But have a great time everyone.

I'm going this year. Apart from the year when my youngest was born on the Solstice, I've been the last 6 years I think. Last year I managed to see a grand total of 0 bands. This year we've got the kids some ear defenders, so they don't complain everytime we go near a music tent!

To be honest there are only about 2 bands I really want to see this year: Flaming Lips and The Woodentops. I've seen the 'Lips twice and they are fantastic live. I was listening to The Soft Bulletin the other day and it is a fine, fine album. The Woodentops wrote the first single I ever bought: 'You Make Me Feel'.

To be honest I don't know what the fuss is this year. We'll have a good time because Glastonbury is always a good time, as long as you can stay dry at night (=van, very good idea!) but without the Ozrics and Eat Static it's really not going on. I remember years when there were umpteen bands I wanted so see and I had to time my stage changes to perfection. Aah well!

Barry - for Thursday night you should put on the DVD remaster of Roeg's 'Glastonbury Fayre' - the latest issue is actually worth having, having been taken from an original print. The one before that was taken from the 80's VHS release!
