If the notebook has Bluetooth then you could use one of these:

Chromecast Audio into the T Amp is another option. £30.

Looks ok thanks, says it compatible with iPod touch, then goes on to say it works with other tablets etc. assume it might work with my iPad. Is there something else that would be better suited to an iPad

If it has bluetooth it will work. I use it with a Chromebook.

You just cast stuff to it from your laptop or mobile device once installing Google Home. Can’t see a much simpler solution, very usable. :)

yeah a chromecast is likely the cheapest, easiest and best performing option

I have one of these in the cupboard somewhere. https://www.belkin.com/ph/p/P-G3A2000/

Easy to use and very good SQ. Just select BT output and play anything from your phone, tablet or pc. Good range too. I found I could connect from anywhere in the house.
