I made up a 1.2m carbokab set up myself but these are just too harsh for my Speakers.

If anyone wants to exchange my lead for their klotz I'd be more than happy to do that. My cable is made up with the black plastic bodied star line RCA's with silver plate connectors.

Sorry to drift the thread slightly.

Not long, a few hours at best.

I think it's a bit of both to be honest it's my speakers being a little screechy and the cable being obviously more revealing than their cheap predecessors.

If they calm down some as you say I will bung them back in and see if they mellow.

Thanks for the heads up.

No worries, I'd let them bed in for at least 50hours just to make sure you are hearing them at their best. No way I'd go back to Klotz after the Sommer.

Got a cd player? Just leave it on repeat, volume down and change the CD every few hours.

I strongly believe it will calm down. Hope it works out!

Well Ollie you were right. They have been settling down well and actually going back to them after reintroducing the cheap cables made me realise what i was missing out on. I actually made up a 2nd set going from the pre amp to my power amp and this has defiantly helped matters.

Therefore they are staying and no sale or exchange required.

[Devils advocate] Has the cable changed (if so, how ;)) or have you just got used to it? [/Devils advocate]

Has the cable changed? probably not by much in the short period I have been using it but has it shown me what my previous cables have been veiling...I think so and this became obviously apparent on switching back to them.

There's is still a slight sting in the treble but I think this is due to my horn speakers rather than anything the cable is doing wrong. I can't ignore the openness of the mids and the how the low frequencies are much more crisp and possibly even deeper. Not perfect to my ears but a definite improvement.
