View Full Version : "Whatsaap has been detected using Microphone"
Samsung S8+ android phone.
This happened 4 times during the night when I checked my phone this morning.
Thinking to go Apple when contract runs out...hmnn.
Any thoughts on this?
Ta.
whats app has changed so might be this... can u remove access to microphone in app or settings? apple are good at this kind of privilage thing
You can remove access with both Android and iOS. Changing to Apple won't help....it's Facebook (Whatsapp) that's the source of your problem.
Yeah...Wahssap is owned by Facebook, and I cant uninstall it from stock android.
Funny 'dat.
Think I'll Root my phone and remove it, enough's enough.
Lol... I've no idea what this thread (specifically the title, and why that's an issue) is about!:confused::hmm::D

It's a foreign language to me too.
It's funny there seems to be two types of people when it comes to this stuff, those who have to have the latest tech and those like me who will avoid it like the plague unless there's no choice.

I find the latest tech avoids me like the plague. And that's fine by me. :)
You can send voice messages instead of typing, handy for some I suppose, so it needs access to your mic for that.

Lol - I'm not anti-tech, per se, just not a mobile phone/social media person, and I'll only invest in tech if, for me, it's *genuinely* useful. For example, now that I've got the new car stereo fitted, with a such an up-to-date Kenwood head unit, I'll now have to succumb to buying a smart phone, so I can pair it to the Kenwood and stream all sorts of music.
I've resisted the temptation so far, simply because my lifestyle didn't warrant me owning a smart phone, but now it does... Still will have zero interest though, in most of these bollox apps, linked with social media. and I'll still be using my Mac for posting on forums, as I insist on typing on a proper keyboard!
There are a few apps though, which are quite cool, such as Shazam:cool:
Marco.
Daughter sends me pics of the kids etc via this app. It's quick and easy and free. Not had any issues in Apple so far

Del uses it too, for keeping contact with her family in Germany, and also some friends here. It's just not something that forms part of my own world:)
