Happy with mine from Desmo on eBay. Around 23 quid a couple of years ago.

Yep I think the Desmo blocks are the best.

How does some Teflon V-BLOCKS sound? Fantastic apparently. I know a guy who makes them. Let me know if you're interested.

The Desmo blocks have no 'end stop', so the knife edge blade is free to move from side to side. Not ideal.

What would be the advantage? No idea Geoff. I only know if one guy who makes them and he said "it's like the motor was new when input them in"

I've not had a Lenco or changed any V-Blocks so not something I can say from experience.

Like I said, having never heard them I can't speak from experience but he is very pleased with his.

He did say he'd let people try before they buy. Maybe they are worth a try?

Teflon (PTFE or PFA) will be more dimensionally stable than other plastic materials as it behaves more like a ceramic, they should create less friction, one of their better known uses as non-stick saucepans etc.

I make my own. Hand filed from tufnol block.

They don't have the locating 'pip' on the bottom, but are bonded in place. They never wear out!

I prefer the soft ones, Type 1....He does sell more of the softer ones than the hard ones...(Type 2)
