As from today i will never ever post on another Audio forum if i can help it.I've totally had enough of other peoples wars especially when i get involved...i don't need this tbh. Audio forums these days too often deviate from what they were created for.Sorry it's come to this but enough really is enough..

As from today i will never ever post on another Audio forum.I've totally had enough of other peoples wars.I have been involved in a matter with a banned member.. i had absolutly nothing to do with or had any dealing with the poster or his posts. But chooses to unfairly mention my name on another forum as an influence in a matter . i don't need this. Audio forums these days too often deviate from what they were created for.Sorry it's come to this but enough really is enough..
I'll just pop on from time to time to collect PM's but thats it.
Andr'e
what the heck???
take a break mate, come back when ever you want!:)
A...
Indeed.
Andre, mate - there are far more important things in life to be pissed off with (as you well know), so chill brovva, and come back whenever you're ready
One thing which always puzzles me though is what difference removing your avatar makes whenever you decide to leave the forum for a while - sorry, I just don't get that!
Anyway, dude, see you back soon!
Marco.

Agreed. I too, from time to time, get a bit annoyed with AoS; it's the nature of on-line fora. When this happens, I take a break from posting and just observe for a while.
Whilst there is little you can do about someone using your 'name in vain' in another forum (unless you have posting rights there), I wouldn't worry about it. It's their problem not yours.
Hope you won't desert us for too long - I think I speak for most of the AoS membership in saying that we enjoy your, sometimes 'distinctive', contributions.
'Haste ye back'

I echo all of the above.
Have a rethink i a few days time mate.
Just a thought but maybe if it could be arranged for the Art of Sound clock to show a pre-1973 date you'd feel more like this was a true home from home!
........and none of those things would've happened yet!
You need to stop listening to your Prog for a while and listen to some of my chillout tunes... And a couple of bevvies... Ok, just the 2nd bit! Hope we won't see you away for too long bud.
come back soon matey, we love ya ways and says

Andre your knowledge of music and classic equipment is valuable and will be missed but more so your sense of humour. Please just have a break and come back soon.
Come back soon, you silly old sausage. It aint us, it's them (who ever they are) you need to be pee'd off about, and we/I need your input... :gig:

Hi Andre
Pm me with the details of this problem and maybe we can sort it out or at the very least just talk about it.
It would be a real shame if you left AOS.

Hey Andre ' you are the champion of prog ' :)
come back when your ready
I was really starting to like him,Hey! have a good single malt Scotch spin your favorite prog and get your A** back here for a little more abuse.Hell, the BS is half the fun man!
Andre just take what ever time you need from time to time like Barry I also take a break from the site or just post on the music section which for me is a kind of refugee from when things really get mad. Everyone sees you as a large part of the forum and I would miss the latest link to another obscure prog classic
Andre
If you're reading this - sort it out mate. There's no doubt you are amongst friends here.:)
Andre, I've also encountered people discussing myself on forums I'm either not a member of, or on which I rarely post (I see that some, self proclaimed, 'expert' has just classed me as a 'parasite' on another forum). To be honest, the world is not short of cowards, fools or the downright stupid; you just have to rise above it as there is no point in arguing with the cerebrally challenged.
I've been told I'm a Yank, a lesbian, a typical product of the comprehensive system, from Yorkshire, a doctor in Scotland, a racist, a communist and a Nazi.
No doubt the criticisms of Andre (whatever they are) are equally wide of the mark.
Come on just a smiley, time can be a great healer.
You edited your post the next day to "keep the peace" so has something happened ?

Nice one Andre, bugger off and come back again soon if you are going to return with pretty ladies! (Especially ones in white boots - I've bit of a thing for them, my wife even wore them for our wedding under her dress! :eyebrows:)
Welcome back bud.

I've solved this problem by only posting on one forum and never hardly looking at any others. There's not much you can do about other peoples attitudes. You can make up a new set of rules to try to stop stupidity and rudeness but then they just create a better idiot twice as obnoxious as before.

I've solved it by not giving a toss about what anyone writes about me. Basically anyone who criticises me is a half-wit at best and can safely be ignored or laughed at.
Welcome back Andre :)

Judging by the avatar Neil, you need to go on a diet! Does your bum look big in that? - yes it does!

Out of curiosity, I did that vain and narcissistic thing: typing one's forum name into Google.
I'm pleased to say that there were only three hits directly related to me: one from this forum; one from the World Design forum; and the third from the Quad user's site. All of them were posts made by me, not about me!
I feel somewhat ignored; a bit of a non-person! But then the only opinions I would give credence to would be those of the AoS membership.

There's shedloads about me, but then I've been online since 1995. Amusingly, three people on Facebook have my exact name, which is a tad confusing for those trying to find me.

Your stalkers should use the -"x factor winner" term in their Google searches and that would weed out a lot of the guff!
Sorry Joe :)

I think my favourite mistaken identity was when someone thought I was a doctor in Scotland, which occupationally and geographically was about as far from reality as one could get.

Ha ha ha! I don't read it... my blood pressure just couldn't take it!
Went away three days, stayed under the rain for hours, I'm worn out, but at least Andr'e is back. Life is not that bad, after all. :)
Hi Dimitri,
I thought you'd gone a bit quiet.... You were missed! :)
Where did you go?
Marco.
I went to Port Aventura theme park (www.portaventura.com), in Salou, Spain, about 4h30 away from Montpellier.
The kids were happy. :) And me, "I'm getting too old for this shit" (as Murtaugh says): only the main attractions keep me awaken.
The only *really* good thing, was a mini-concert of some country/rock/blues band over there. Good musicians and nice sound (amps and speakers). :)
And me, "I'm getting too old for this shit"
