My daughter Beth has just finished setting the system in her bedroom having just come home from college.
It’s a mix of parts I had lying around doing nothing.
She loves it to bits and is currently listening to Erykah Badu on a constant loop [emoji23]
IQaudio DAC and USB drive
Rotel RA-930AX amp
AVI NuNeutron speakers

Those Rotel amps are very good, I briefly had one used for AV duties. Passed it on to a friend of mine, again for AV use.
I still have my student set up.
Kef Coda 9
Kenwood KA-3020SE
Pioneer PD-S703
Parts of it are still in use today....
You wait Tony, she'll soon be " borrowing " stuff from your set up.

Dating yourself there.

I still have part of my student set up: Thorens 124/II with SME 3009 arm. How does that date me?
Dating yourself there.
Not really.... Assumptions are a wonderful thing.

She already is as far as the AVIs are concerned :-)

[emoji13] where d’ya think she got the Erykah Badu from? She’s got about 1Tb of my FLAC files on that disc. [emoji23]

Erykah Badu kicks ass, what's the problem? Everyone I've introduced her to played her stuff round the clock too. The live album and 'Mama's Gun' are the best. Although you might struggle with Mama's Gun if experimental funk isn't your sort of thing.

Was listening to it last night funnily enough. Love “Green Eyes”.

It's grown folks' music ;)
Is there a particular title you would recommend?

:) It's something she says on the live album when introducing an extended funk instrumental. I think her tongue was in her cheek a little.

OK - just ordered it!
It's corker. If you don't like it you need to sit down and reconsider your life. :D

Dunno about her being grown up folk's music, I used to have "Baduism" and my daughter borrowed it when she was about fifteen. Never saw it again.
Better with Screamin' Jay Hawkins

Blimey, this one takes me back.
We used to rinse these 'New Soul' albums 24/7 before they'd barely hit the shops.
This was her debut and the one that started it all for her.
Maxwell's debut album (Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite) from around the same time was another.
Great times, seems like yesterday

Sadly I don't like it much! Things begi0n well with the reference to Kind of Blue, but quickly goes downhill. I dislike singers who 'preach'.
As my partner said: "it's a young person's music".
