View Full Version : AIWA AD6900k cassette deck.

This apparently legendary deck is I believe in need of a service, maybe new belts ?
The tape will start to turn but after about 2 seconds it switches off , I知 no expert so please decide for yourself what could be wrong .

I recently did the belts on a nak dr-2. Quite fiddly but keeping notes when diving in helps a lot. Very satisfying getting it going again.

Apparently cassette decks are all the rage these days. No I can't figure out why either. :lol:

The Aiwa deck looks the biz.

Seemingly this remote allows veils to be lifted, curtains to be removed, musicians to appear to be standing 8ft in front of you in your own room, epiphany moments to be received daily etc etc.

Never experienced it myself, but thats the inside info !!!!

The switching off after 2 sec is usually the counter belt not advancing and activating autostop mech

As I said to the potential buyer , I love getting stuck into this kind of thing but after about an hour I was ready to weep !
I also said I could change my mind at any minute coz it痴 so bloody nice

The counter belt is usually quite small and often the easiest to get to. At a push a small elastic band can work well enough to get it running.
That one looks a B tho. Lol

That痴 a very generous offer, thank you, but sadly this only works on the MkII - the MkI uses the RC-10 wired remote. :(

Such a shame, as I had for the last hour been looking at holidays in the Bahamas. Oh well... Blackpool again then!!!!!
