Looking for the two 6.5 inch bass drivers that are used on the one channel of an IMF ALS-30 speaker. They are slightly different (one is bass and the other sub-bass) as seen in the following picture.

Or alternatively does anyone know what actual drivers IMF used for their builds? All the IMF source literature (http://www.imf-electronics.com/Home/imf/speaker-range/studios/als30) gives no clues. The drivers are simply marked 'IMF Electronics'.

It's probable they were made in house, the review of a similar pair here refers to the ribbed speakers as being IMF's own.

I don't recall seeing ribbed driver cones in the Super Compact 2. I doubt IMF made them, they would probably have got somebody like Chartwell or KEF to supply units to their requirements, rather than expensively tool up for smallish production runs.

Thanks Lawrence. Interesting thread. All a bit confusing as also mention made in the thread of Peerless and EMI drivers.

Still hoping something will come up - you never know someone else may have blown one channel of an ALS30 speaker and we can then have a wedding. :)

It would be such a shame to break up my ALS30 speakers and sell the bits.

How are you getting along with your IMFs? Are they at your gaff yet?

Thanks Grant. :)

I had a good look around but did not catch those before.

Turns out the seller is actually in USA (the site you linked to seems to be a Japanese aggregator of some sort specialising in vintage stuff being sold worldwide).

Anyway I've sent the USA seller a message with some questions. He is a prolific seller in vintage stuff with a good rep.

Still looking mind you - the USA items may prove to be uneconomical.
