Tapped Horns

Hi
got a pair of tapped horns I built from 22mm black valchromat using the design from -

using Eminence KappaLite 3015LF drivers

height 2300mm-depth 495mm-width 495mm

The valchromat is natural at the moment I will be finishing with danish oil when I get them out for a sale

All jointing done with a Festool Domino joiner and all joints sealed so nice and airtight through the horn

Have a MC2 T1000 to drive 'em if required

£500 worth of valchromat and £400 for the drivers ...bit a bargain should be a grand each ;)

Great work Rob.
A prospective purchaser might be wondering if they will go in corners, given their size. (I notice they are pictured alongside the main stack.)
The ones that Speedysteve built (also using Eminence drivers) certainly were fine in corners. Steve was using digital active crossovers which would have had time alignment capabilities.
Jack (who once transported a pair of subs (different design) for you from Soton to nr Oxford - remember?)

Hi Jack yeah remeber ,you started me on the sub route with that 18" box I bought off you and I certainly enjoyed the Lab12's that I think ended up at Haywards place .
Currently have them flat against the back wall firing straight out with one horn in the corner...worked well .

Having sat in Chris's listening room in his wonderful suspended listening seat I can truly say that the Ocellias sound the Bee's Bollocks, if I had the room and the money I would snap them up, so if you are in that position do not hesitate!!

I am surprised Audio Al has not been tempted they could be the last speaker he ever purchased or listened to and then he could have a clear out.:eek::lol:

This is true if he bought them he'd be financially better off. In fact he could probably retire early on the proceeds of his equipment sale.

But never underestimate the urge to accumulate?

Glad Adrian has good memories of the Calliopes. After a gap of a few weeks, I still get surprised by the quality of music they produce.
