I guess you've had that set up for quite while?

LP12 was bought new by my dad in 1982 and untouched till this year. Even the original cartridge...
Kandy about 15 years old
Q acoustics speakers about a year old

Ah you never mentioned the Q Acoustics. I had a dem of the Kandy amp and cd player about 15 years back, with AE speakers, it was all quite impressive. Prefer the old LP12s to the modern ones too.

I bought the speakers on the back of a what hifi review without checking the competition.
I had a marantz pm6006 which suited them.
Might have to upgrade the roksan soon though

Think I would question the need to upgrade the Roksan unless you have a strong budget for replacement.

The Q Acoustics are allright. I'm thinking that you'd have to splash out a bit to get something better than the Roksan, though. A lot of good stuff comes up for sale here, if you don't mind owning second-hand. (Or tenth-hand in some cases ;) )

was thinking of a supernait 2 or linn DSM3....

Alternatively upgrade the speakers....
