Many thanks Neil for putinvg these articles together.

I must admit to having not being interested in shows with blingy boxes that sell in single numbers, but your excelent coverage and some "distance" from the industry has piqued my interest again.

According to Ashley james, who has a far wider global view than I (and ignoring everything else for now), the UK market is the poorest of all, hence the huge increase in used stuff being sold in the mid price area. Much of the gear you've photographed and described are not for these shores I'll wager, but should do well elsewhere.

The Naim sound has matured considerably IMO from the hard-as-nails crossover(distortion) laden CB and Olive era, so if you didn't care for the Tom-Tom room, I'd look at the speakers, which seem to generate widely different viewpoints I think.

When I look at some of Audio Note's prices, I almost gag in shock, especially at the Snell derived speakers. Bearing in mind that again the UK isn't a prime market for them, I strongly suspect the products are priced high to "compete" with other things in the wealthy far east, where phono stages sell for thousands of pounds.

Indeed, but we could do with more exposure of it on AOS (as promised), rather than simply links to Neil's site - i.e, the same effort applied towards it here (in terms of pictures and dialogue) as there is over there ;)

Marco.

I probably will do one on the Hi-End show in Munich, how do I upload pictures?
