You'll be able to decompress the flac to its' original "wav" format, then use that to burn a CD.

It would seem that they go up to 24-bit 48kHz.

If you don't want a computer in the music room then your best bet is probably a Transporter (possibly with an external DAC but it sounds very good in its own right).

Just re-read the article, and there is nothing specific to say that the FLAC files are going to be any more than 16/44.1 - I'd be surprised to see anything larger myself.

If they decide to post 24/96 files then it is still possible to decompress the file, but you'd need burning software capable of writing audio DVD discs, or if you have a DVD-Audio player something like Minnetonka Discwelder to burn proper DVD-A discs.

Or you could use a Squeezebox to deliver the music.
The now on its' way Touch can access directly from USB HDD, or even a USB memory stick.
The Touch handles file types up to 24/96 as native.
You can use the Touch as a stand alone unit, although it can be integrated into a proper networked environment.

That too, but it ain't cheap (costs a damn site more than the Touch) and it does a better job as a transport than as a stand alone player (by your own admission/preference).
