I have a NOS Sylvania 5670 Gold Brand.

Nice valve, gold pin, obviously a quality item. Sounds good in a Xiang.

Thanks for taking the time to reply with a photo - Sadly, Ive just picked up a 396 and the Sly I wouldnt really be interested in unless its a giveaway price

The Sylvania is a great 396A antidote when you feel you want to tone down the presentation a bit. It sounds very nice rather than all out balls impressive.

It isn't a giveaway price. It is a bloody nice well made tube in ace condition.

That said, enjoy the 396A. They are great.

Thanks Justin thats really good to know the presentation it brings - its actually slightly opposite what I am looking for at the moment, but I am changing the DAC chip soon, so it might be required! I'll drop you a PM to discuss. The 396A comes tomorrow, so will be interesting to see what it brings to everything.
