Just heard Burt Reynolds died of a heart attack. Very sad news, I was a big fan. A great actor who did comic parts so well and could do serious roles too. 'Deliverance' is one of my favourite films.

yep RIP he made some great films,the cannonball run is one of my favourites.

RIP Burt. His films were a bit of a mixed bag really but he was perfect in 'Deliverance'. Practically no original Cannonballers left now.

I loved Cannonball Run and may put the DVD on tonight. My Dad has just had a "minor" heart attack at a similar age so this hits home more than ever

the partnership with Dom DeLuise was always very good,you can see this in the out takes from the cannonball run,an often overlooked film with those two is 'the end' worth checking out if you've not seen it.

Sad news indeed. Another proper 'old school' actor, evoking memories from my youth, with some of the great films he was in, such as Smokey and the Bandit, departs this earth. R.I.P Burt!:(

Sad news that. As a kid in the 80s films like Smokey & the Bandit, Hooper and Cannonball Run were simply part of growing up.

Its worth watching Burt in Boogie Nights, Apparently he didn't get on with the director or particularly like the film itself but both the film and him are very very good. Great sound track too as well.

Fantastic movie. My fave Burt film. I have it on DVD may give it a watch.

A great guy, would have liked to share a beer with him, will be wearing my toupee at half-mast tonight, I think he would have appreciated that.
