Lots of low-fi pres coverage and endorsement from paid parties. Haven't seen anyone giving up their 12-way custom fit IEM's quite yet.
Sounds a bit like an equaliser in the chain

Yes, though if the claims are true, it is one based on a customised EQ to compensate for variations (deficiencies?) in an individual's hearing. I am fortunate that my hearing is standing up pretty well as I age, but I can see a system like this as allowing those with declining hearing to listen to music closer to how it was recorded.
Geoff
Anyone tried these yet? I quite fancy the idea, especially for wireless cans...

Yeah, do it!
After my recent hearing issues following a virus illness I'm much more conscious of how I took my good hearing for granted before that.
Would be interesting to see how good they are. Could be handy one day!
they can be used wired too, although seem to used their own type connector typically... guess many folk dont really know how bad their hearing is

An interesting read about the mechanism used to calibrate the headphones, they must be exceptionally good microphones to pick it up.

Been on my wish list for a while following fantastic reviews ....
The steep price has been putting me off - also some reviews mark them down for poor comfort, which is a bit of a deal breaker for me.
However, I recently had my first hearing test in 15 years and the results were more than a bit disappointing :( so they are back on the cards - hopefully with some New Year discounting on Amazon.
Just arrived. Same day delivery from Amazon. Pretty good service

Hmmm, they aint going back. !!
for wireless headphones these are fabulous sound wise. Might take a little while to get used to the queer shape and to an extent the aural experience.
I can get up to 6 folk 20% off too, which is a bit rich seeing i paid full price:lol: ... these are just first impressions, but wirelessly I think they are beating Oppos:stalks: certainly damn close, and thats Tidal from my iphone via bluetooth.
PS, i did another ear test and am using this one; think i set the first one a little close to the action.
These were already set up with latest software as well so didnt have to go through an update.
Put 20% into battery. Changed tips to medium. Better. Much more comfort now. They come with the large ones on.
The test continues but so far very impressed.
Excellent placement of instruments. Strings are superb

Sounds very promising Grant :)
What are the comfort levels like with longer listening? I usually listen for 2-3 hours at a stretch so pretty crucial.
Reviews on this seem to be mixed (although some very scathing on Amazon)
Does the 30 day trial deal go via Amazon or do you have to return to the company in Australia?
Don't know about the returns I guess it would be at point of sale initially.
Comfort wise Ive not used them enough but now I'm onto the smaller buds I do t see too much of an issue. Strange is maybe the word rather than uncomfortable. But think that will pass with use.
Just got them on again. Sound really is fab if like me your hearing isn't as good as it was. You don't need to force things. You can also adjust the level of bass you like initially although if you get it wrong you have to do a new test. (actually not, you can change the immersion mode with the app... there are ap sensors on sides that you can program too...very handy.
One thing tho as everything is software based its wide open for improvements via updates which is great idea..
the noise cancellation and social mode is superb too.
morricone has never sounded better... pretty impressive, and my hearing isnt too bad. think for folk with issues these will be a boon. alas they aint cheap, but if i forwrd your email i believe you get 20% off although i dont know what the price starts at compared to amazons; probably similar.
comfort wise ive no issues so far. ears are still cool etc.
a review from forbes if youve not read it .. https://www.forbes.com/sites/paularmstrongtech/2018/10/04/nuraphone-are-the-last-headphones-you-should-ever-buy/

Sound like a winner then Grant ... :)
Price looks to be identical on the Nura website so if your are OK with that it would be absolutely brilliant (although I hope you get something out of it too..otherwise would be a liberty )

dunno if i get anything. would need to look; doubt it. i send them your email addy and they contact you i think..
another good point is if you take off the cans the music pauses... when put them on and they and tell you the battery condition as they switch on etc...
range seems decent too, went into kitchen and no dropouts

Brilliant Grant - all done and dusted ... once again thank you massively for that and the speed of response:) :) :)
Worth mentioning though that Nura charge £25 shipping fees (added after the discount) ... so Amazon would be a better deal if you are buying without the discount voucher.
is it a uk ship or direct from aussie? the box is fairly big n heavy.
My graph looks like this

Better pic of the case and cans. Open with a magnet cover lock and even the bit for cables comes out and held by magnet.
Always with the magnets lol

After 3 hrs I started to feel a little uncomfortable so took them off. The. Bluetooth worked even upstairs in toilet. Ner

dunno to be honest - the invoice included VAT and they have a UK VAT number so presume from a UK depot
Will see how long it takes ... Xmas and New Year distractions so no rush really.
Streaming from an hd bluetooth unit really improves this as well.. using an avantree leaf for pc which is pretty good. Got the latest hd oasis plus from same company on my turntable and its great...pricey tho.
further impression is that these cans handle bass much better than normal ones. the mids and highs are not drowned in a sea of rumble. the bass is as powerful as you wish it really but separate ...must be as its applied by the outer can.
Listening to a soundtrack is astonishing really... like having your head surrounded by some seriously good speakers. even loud there is no distortion.
also i will add i have moved down to the smallest tips now. think ive small ear canals.:eyebrows:
**cue a Marco retort*:ner:
These continue to amaze sound wise. They are SOO revealing its hard to believe tbh. hear things, maybe too many things on some albums:D

Can you turn the 'correction filters' off to see how much of the great sound is due to the personalisation to your own hearing, and how much to the inherent excellence of the headphones themselves?

you can. although with it switched off, they sound pretty poor. (maybe a marketing ploy) but they do sound fab; no-one is prising these out of my grasp.. the hd bluetooth transmitters do work.. the little leaf adaptor ive got on pc is great; signal was perfect even upstairs in bedroom ... they are classed as long range but was surprised they didnt give interfernce. guessing it has to be heard to be believed tho.
comfort is maybe going to be the main issue with some, but im used to them now.
One thing that ive found is our hearing does change day to day. I have started doing a fresh test every day now and find it different each time, and i get better results than the one that was right yesterday...if that makes sense.
Might be a proof why our systems sound different day to day.

The Nuraphones arrived today - shipped from the Netherlands (almost a week ago !!)
1st impressions (with Bluetooth and MP3 from phone) .. OK but not a lot better than my HD600, slight improvement in higher frequencies noticeable but nothing dramatic.
2nd impressions - using the (extra) analogue cable/HP amp and RPi AIFF files = WOW !!!!! - definitely spectacular improvement.
Anyone buying these should definitely get the analogue cable (£15) and avoid BT if poss.
More in depth pros and cons later when I have a had a chance to listen more :)
Has your phone got hd bluetooth? Ive noticed a big improvement using hd bluetooth transmitter.
But they do sound great with your hearing dialled in

finally got the analogue cable for my nuraphones.... plugged in to my sony phone and tidal masters playing bettye lavette. improved bass response. deeper insight and lower noise floor. stunning:D

It seems that the claims made for these are justified. Having recently bought a pair of HIFIMAN 400i planar magnetics I cannot really justify buying these. However, should my hearing deteriorate or I need a need set of phones I will definitely consider these!

Yup, they have kinda made my very good oppo planar's obsolete... and they are damn good cans. got them connected via cable to my headphone amp now.. magical.
Still enjoying these muchly(Nuraphones)... been using them in different configurations with different sources. also i have definitely found that your hearing changes regularly and you do need to change your profile regularly to get best out of them. Also its wise to keep the immersion low ... Probably my best ever buy even though they were expensive.

I'm very pleased with my 400i's but they do take a bit of driving. I adjusted the gain on my Caiman SEG and they sound great now.

NuraLoop
Hey Anthony,Thank you for your patience with the delivery of your NuraLoop. We know how eager you are to start enjoying them and we’re eager to get them to you.As you may know, the state of the Coronavirus in China has led to government-mandated travel restrictions and widespread halts on production across many companies and industries. We’re carefully monitoring the situation, heeding official advice and complying with government mandates to ensure no one is put at risk. Unfortunately, this means a large number of our engineering team and production workforce are unable to get to work, which*is causing further delays on shipping your pre-ordered NuraLoop unit. We know this is frustrating, but the safety of our team and wider community is our first priority and we need to do all we can to ensure it.Our only other priority is getting you your NuraLoop as soon as is safely possible. The situation in China is evolving every day and we’re doing everything in our power to keep further delays to an absolute minimum. As global authorities continue to advise*on how to approach the situation and we come to better understand the impacts, you’ll be first to know.Over the next two weeks, we’ll be in touch with a more detailed update on the shipping of your NuraLoop. In the meantime, we truly appreciate your understanding while we await government guidance.Team Nura

Recieved a communication from NURA re the loops. Chins is still nor really functioning yet with major movement restrictions etc meaning staff are unable to get home so the can then work.
Oh well, health first I guess. I was hoping it might be better news as my big nura ones are heavy for my injured neck.
Might have to give up headphones until this is resolved.
Good of them to explain.
Heard these have moved on somewhat and a few thousand are made. Should be getting shipped in a few weeks all being well

good stuff.. yes, im impressed with them.. amazing whats packed into such a small package. you totally forget they are on.
How do they compare to the full size nura cans?
I've noticed that the seal on the ear canal is crucial to the best sound. I find that I occasionally need to tug my ear lobe to keep the sound spot on. I've tried all the buds and settled on the XL. I wonder if there is some knack to getting the fit right? I probably just have strangely shaped ear canals [emoji2957]

ive found the ear grip should be fairly hard up against the ear, and then push bottom of the bud disk in tight, this helps them not move. as to the big nuras; well they sound more of everything but they are not as comfortable and are quite heavy ... big nuras are best ive ever heard, but these are best buds.
Well they're incredible and well worth the wait [emoji38]

I got mine yesterday , its been a long wait but to be fair the communications from the company have been clear and understandable in the current circumstances.
I also had to go for xl in the left ear, i think I have L in the right ear still.
I also could not get on the profile system yesterday which I assume uses cloud processing to keep the cost down on silicon tech in the loop. All working well today though. Great sound for the money so far, although im just 3 or 4 tracks in.
Im listening to spotify premium via bluetooth so far.
Will try the hard wire option and compare to my senheiser cans and some 4 way iems i have that cost very similar money to the pre order price.

Ok , balanced impressions after 3 days listening.
These cost me £140 delivered on the pre order and its been a very long wait.
These absolutely smash my other IEMs which are 4 way drivers and also cost me about £140. I forget the brand they were not a well known one but had good reviews. The bass is sooo good it is the stand out sonic character but the buds also perform exceeding well in the mids and top too
I think they sound better than my Sennheiser HD 700s too but i would rate the cans better for comfort.
The only downside is the microphony of the cable, particularly noticable lying down with a jumper on. Also, its weird if you talk (the noise cancelling effectiveness breaks down at a certain volume close to my normal conversation level). Dont try to listen and eat your lunch its not pleasant either.
Will use these in the office whilst working or late night, bluetooth and cabled sounded very similar for spotify premium content.
I have to agree with your evaluation. These buds when sitting in the ear correctly have fantastic bass and good mids and top. Only thing that concerns me is where to get the rubber OEM buds when they eventually either wear out or get lost...

Well although they sound great, ive had issues with the buds going to sleep and not waking when i put them on.. ive also had issues of taking them off and they have not gone to sleep and in morning the battery is flat. Now also the left touch pads are not working... the app is playing up...
Hows that for a list..... im not happy and all they say is. try the usual etc as if im stupid and not tried the usual...
they have been a good company up to this but alas im going to call them out on this unless they get the finger out.. i did wait patiently for a year.:steam:
if they read this then good
That’s pretty dire!
I’ve passed it on to my youngest lad in the hope we can get it in front of them ( I believe he knows someone in the company’s marketing team ). Don’t know for sure but anything is worth a try.

cheers tony.... just picked them up. not used since this morning and they are working again.. something odd going on.. dunno if its the wiring or the software.. not holding my breath as to if they will work next time tho...
never had any issues wuth their bigger ones
Continue to get issues with these. They start working for a while then something else plays up etc.
Poor customer service too imo. Take several days to reply and say they take 24hrs, then just spout the same guff they said last time.
Shame as company started well and the big nuras are trouble free.
I believe these have been rushed out even tho they are a year late. They already say they know of several issues etc but don't really want to know about others.
Shame

I had similar issues with mine going to sleep while 5 minutes in to a session and plenty of power in them.
Also was out the other day and the touch controls on both sides went unresponsive.
Ive actually only listened to them for a couple of hours since day 2.
I had emails about they will do a firmware update, also there is an issue with the charging lead overheating on some USB chargers. To be fair they are sending everyone a new lead. However Grant is right I get the sense that everyone who pre bought are essentially beta testers.
I still think these have enormous potential for the money, but seeing as im stuck at home I prefer listening to my speakers.

The start stop tap buttons on mine don't work now. All very odd as it doesn't work on the big ones now either

I've had issues with mine too, tap buttons going awol and buds going into sleep mode.
Only thing I've found to get them going again is to connect them to my mobile using the cable directly and then disconnecting them and letting the blutooth kick in again.
Been sometime since the promise of a software update, not holding my breath!
yeah the tap button on my big nuras went too... must be software i think as they now both work again. app first time you do a test always gives up and resets first time using too.. they altered the app as folk were having issues, now everyone is having other issues.
