Amp could be better but is good enough. Cd players - everyone will recommend their favourites and so will I - Something from the Sony 'ES' range or ideally a Technics SLP1200 although not easy to find one for under £250 but it can be done.

Or a lot cheaper if you can find a working one, the Cambridge CDS4E. The only 'budget' player that has really impressed me.

I found bypassing the nad pre stage in my c350 with a relatively cheap passive (eg. Tisbury) yielded great results.

Buy a second hand Macmini, add an external CD/DVD drive and import all your CDs into the iTunes library, then use the computer as a music server. Either use the headphone output into an analogue input, or use the optical digital output if you have a DAC.
