As per title, I would be very grateful if any of you guys has a manual for a Whest two.2.

I’ve phoned Whest and they couldn’t (Wouldn’t) help! So I would be made-up if anyone could somehow let me have a copy.

Thanx.

Clive,

Having had both the Whest two and Two.2 there is no difference in the dip switch settings.

I currently have the Whest PS.30RTD Special Edition and that’s also exactly the same.

It might be more helpful if you can explain what your trying to achieve.

I take it , its cartridge loading!!!

Perhaps this will be more helpful.

Examples of two load settings.

Or setting for a Decca Gold 500 Ohm / 65dB Gain

Thanks for that guys, but both examples are incorrect for the Two.2

There are 4 sets of dip switches. 2 for right channel and 2 for the left.
So taking right channel as example. Cartridge is Ortofon Cadenza Black.
1. 100 set on
2. 220
3. 470
4. 1k
5. 15k
6. 47k

1. 43 dB
2. 50 dB
3. 55 dB
4. 60 dB
5. 65 dB set on
6. 70 dB

The on settings are set at factory.

I think that is the correct settings for my cartridge and they seem to be doing the trick. It would however be nice to have the instructions.

Clive,

I wouldn’t say they are incorrect... just an extra dip switch.

I can assure you, there are no instructions as you infer, just how to set the dip switches to match your cartridge. (On or off)

In your case with the Cadenza Black you have little option, as the recommended load is >10 Ohm, so the 100 Ohm dip switch set to on is your nearest option. As for the amplitude, just choose what suits your Preamp line input the best for reasonable volume without distortion. (65dB suits most preamps).

Had a whest myself once. Think it might have been the 2. Was a while ago. Pretty aesthetics but don't remember a manual

Here you go.

They only have the Two listed, but from reading above it appears they're similar.

I set mine (not a Whest though) by ear. Is that bad ? :harp:

And it doesn't look like anything by the manual(s) or factory settings.

Since my (unexpected "exotic") high output MC MONO cartridge sound fantastic.

Hi Peter
I apologise for saying incorrect, just incomplete. My Two.2 is obviously a more recent model as they now come with twice as many settings as previously.
As you are saying that there are no other manuals, I’m happy but would like to know why it has 2 red led’s, possibly 1 for each channel? It seems Whest aren’t great on manuals (but are on Phonostages). The Cadenza Black spec. is >10 Ohm, i.e. more than 10 Ohm, therefore 100 Ohm would be correct. Same setting for my AT33PTG/II. However my Hana SL needs >400 Ohms, so the 470 Ohm setting will be needed.

Thanks to James at Whest, I now have a copy of the operating manual for the Whest Two.2.

If someone can tell me how to upload it to the scans section I’m only too happy for anybody to access it if need be.
