Purchased from one of the many Chinese eBay sellers to try out, I’ve had it less than a month, haven’t really got an application for it at the moment. This one’s wired as a headphone amp but I understand it’s easy to change this and use it as a preamp. £90 delivered anyone? PPG or BT ok.

AND for another £30 I’ll include this little SMSL amp, so that’s £120 for the DAC and the amp delivered!

I recently bought one of these DACs off this forum and I'm very pleased with it. Mine is also set up with a fixed output, the valve output is my option. To put it into pre-amp mode you apparently have to open it up and swop some jumpers around (this courtesy of Google search and not the manual which makes no mention of this).
It's a good piece of kit for sure.

Same as my Xiang sheng dac-01 , accept mine didn’t have jumpers but had solder spots .

Yep, received today thanks Roy. Never heard one of these chip amps before. Bizarre!! Playing drum and bass through my audio notes. It's all there...

Yes, they're surprisingly good. I have another on the subs bench with a built in DAC so there are more input options.

I'm guessing my speakers being an easy drive is helping but I can't get over how enjoyable this little amp is. Biggest suprise in nearly 30 years of hifi.
