Although I have a background in electronic engineering I work in IT these days, no doubt as punishment for heinous crimes in a past life.
I once worked in an 'enthusiast' hi-fi store in Denmark where I am from
I listen exclusively with headphones these days, my speakers are in storage as I live in a small room, I use an Audiotailor Jade valve amplifier, Beresford TC-7510 which I got yesterday and have modified somewhat already and a Squeezebox, the original version 3 from Slim Devices. Headphones are Sennheiser HD590 and HD600
I live in Bridgend, south Wales, see note above about past life.
I don't believe in cable hype but have witnessed examples where different cables made a very noticeable difference, however this was usually 'audiophile' cables replacing essentially flawed/very poor cables.
I like to see scientific proof of things but am able to appreciate differences that I have a hard time measuring, like the different sound signature of output capacitors, valves, etc.
I have a wife who is from England and who lives in Bridgend also, we are separated, hence why I live in a small room and a daughter who was born in Wales and will be four in July.
My user name is a nickname that I have had for many many years and comes from a Danish cartoon series about a family of living in a big diverse city.
I will mainly be active in the D.I.Y part of the forum.
