Ok i asked this on a tape based forum but got nothing i wanted to hear.
My prefered tape is the old 80's TDK:SA/SA-X' buying NOS is a bit hard. I'm wanting around 200 New cassettes so as you can imagine i don't have the time or patience to wait.
The question then is what are the best present production Cro2 cassettes available. TDK i'd rather pass on nowadays.

Have you thought of checking out Dave Cawley for stocks of the 'Phoenix' chrome tape brand? It's basically Maxell XL-II (and Maxell Metal for the limited Type IV), using NOS tape from pancakes, IIRC. Reports have been good, though I've not tried it myself. I understand HiFi World have given it a good review.
Dave is the UK distributor.
