Looking for a Wadia 381 cd remote as mine has failed. Have contacted Wadia direct but no response. Anybody got anything? has anybody taken the remote apart ?

You could possibly use a universal remote that has a learning facility and scans for the Wadia unit code.

Thanks for the info I do have such a device but it does not allow me to get at the hidden menus such as the DAC.

I did try the dealer route but the two I tried said contact direct as no supply in UK. Wadia have now come back to me with a price to ship to the UK not cheap but the player cost a fortune so I suppose I will have to bite the bullet.

I can just figure what kind of price they'll be asking. Still, at least your problem will be sorted.

It will be £200 to buy and ship to UK. But it is the metal remote which matches mine so as the player cost £6000 I suppose that is to be expected.:stalks:

At that price it would be worth double checking it's definitely a problem with the remote and not the receiver on the machine.
You can check using your camera phone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMPoifERrNs

Thanks for the tip. It is the remote as it does work on some buttons but others are just sticking a known problem on the early remote. I have tried cleaning inside the remote but I think the rubber button pad has gone soft with age.
