Hello,
Just a quick note of introduction.
I've been into hi-fi since having a Saturday job in a small hi-fi and record shop in the mid-80s.
Probably like most people on here, I go through phases of not buying any new kit (due to finances, family commitments etc.) and having occasional bouts of severe upgraditis.
I'm currently running two systems:
- the digital one (Naim Uniti 2, Naim Unitiserve, ATC SCM 11s, backed up to a QNAP server, Chord speaker cable and ethernet cables)
- the analogue one (Linn Axis/Adikt, Naim chrome bumper 62/140/Hi-Cap, Neat IOTA, NAC A5 speaker cable, Grahams Hydra mains lead, Flashback Sales interconnects)
Obviously, I prefer the second one...
Musically, I tend to listen mostly to electronica (classic 80s, such as New Order, Cocteau Twins etc to more modern stuff, like Fujiya & Miyagi, Public Service Broadcasting etc.) and indie.
Favourite all-time band: Saint Etienne
Favourite new albums this year are by: Gwenno, Lump, Tracey Thorn, Tracyanne & Danny and the new Gabe Gurnsey.
Favourite gigs so far this year: Johnny Marr @ Islington Town Hall, Placebo @ RFH, Pet Shop Boys @ Royal Opera House, My Bloody Valentine @ RFH, A Certain Ratio @ The Garage.
Have recently started buying vinyl again - either new stuff, or 80s Japanese pressings of classic albums.
Looking forward to being part of the community.
