Many happy returns birthday boy, from all your friends at the Take That fan club :)
Lol, cheers guys for all your kind Birthday wishes - much appreciated!
Had a lovely day going round Tatton Park house and gardens (the weather was great), and then out for dinner later to Brasserie Blanc, in Knutsford: https://brasserieblanc.com/restaurants/knutsford/ (what a lovely quaint town, full of character, Knutsford is), which is one in Raymond Blanc's chain of French restaurants.
The food was superb, along with the service and overall ambience - we'll defo be going back... Thoroughly recommended for anyone who likes classic French cuisine done well!

Cheers, mate. There was no wet weather. It was mostly sunny (and dry) all day, especially in the evening:)

Yeah it was, mate. Hadn't been to Tatton Park before. The gardens are MASSIVE... Certainly walked plenty to build up and appetite for dinner!

We’re big fans of Brasserie Blanc as well - we have one just up the road in Winchester.
Did you have the steak tartare for starter? I feel I should try one of their other starters some time, but I can never seem to get past this when we visit. It’s divine!
Hi Adam,
It's the first time we've been, as there are no branches in our immediate area, and Knutsford is around 40 miles away, but we'll defo go back. It's worth making a special trip! In fact, we're going back on Friday for lunch, as Del spied a dress she liked in the window of a ladies boutique, but the shop was closed when we were there:)
No, I didn't have the steak tartare, as I'm not really a raw meat kind of guy (however well 'marinated'), so I had the salmon to start, followed by the suckling pig, both of which were delicious. Dad had the Escargots (followed by the suckling pig), and Del the veggie summer rolls, to start, followed by the vegan chilli pie.
Next time we go for dinner, I'll try the cheese soufflé (as the pistachio one I had for dessert was sublime), and Bœuf Bourguignon.
The wine list is also well selected and attractively priced, considering the quality on offer. We enjoyed a lovely Côtes de Bourg (with the main course), for £30, something which one could easily pay £15 more for in similar establishments. The Viognier we had with our starters was equally as good.
We've not yet visited Le Manoir, but it's on our list of 'things to do' in the very near future!
Marco.
(Late) Happy birthday Marco!
Cheers, Bernard! :)

Sounds good! A friend had the suckling pig when we last went and said it was superb.
An even later happy Birthday Marco - hope you had a good one:cool:
Cheers, Alf. Sure did, thanks!
