I’m currently using the original thick rubber mat that came with the deck and would appreciate input
from anybody who has tried something else with positive results... not looking to break the bank..around
£50/60....Thanks Dee
Circa £30 gets you the Origin Live platter mat, use one on my Rock mk2 and works well.

Picked up an Origin Live Upgrade Platter mat at the weekend....Good service from Turntable world.. 48hours from purchase to delivery.Auditioned all weekend..both using OLP mat on its own and also together with the Thorens mat... To be honest ,my ears couldn’t tell the difference with or without the Thorens mat.But the OLP mat did make a difference .The music was more defined ,vocals clearer and bass less boomy. All this in a subtle rather than jaw dropping fashion. For £39 I reckon it’s worth keeping...Thanks John for the heads up...Dee
A cork rubber mix 2 piece mat was what I found the best followed closely by a funk firm 3mm mat.
I have used an Analogue Innovation "Plattamat" - bonded cork - on an LP12 to good effect:

Do you mean you used a separate cork and separate rubber mat together...if so ,was that you experimenting or that’s how it was designed?....Do you remember the name ..names.
No they are made as a composite Of you look up cork and rubber platter mat on eBay you should get some come up.
I will have a look for a link when I'm back at a pc

The best one I ever used on my TD160 B was the Funk Firm Achromat 5mm version. Bloody stunning.
