ive just had a wake up call with my ns1000's we all know the bass is the weak point but 'stevestd' just brought over a pair of dynaudio bookshelf speakers for me to listen too and im shock at the bass these little speakers pump out! not only do they have more punch but they go deeper as well.
im gobsmacked!!

can the bass on the yamahas be improved to a less embarrassed level?

might just "sound" like they go deeper...

no grant,i used records we both know really well,for instance kate bush's 'moving' and they dont :(
their saving grace is the mid and top end thank god.

I thought my little mecom Heybrook hb2’s sounded deeper too but that just isn’t possible 🤷🏼*♂️
The Radfords definitely went lower .

A mate of mine had some Dynaudio bookshelf monitors that went ridiculously deep, but the bass was not good quality atall.. The Yamaha bass is so clean, fast and tuneful that I have often thought that others produce more but they don't.

Hi Jamie

I wont be drawn into this debate on how low a speaker can go.
What i will say is your the man sat listening to the music and if your perceptions is a speaker sounds as if ithas more impact or sounds as if it goes lower in the bass register then trust your ears.

I take no notice of frequency response on paper or from a machine telling me it goes lower.

It's more about how it sounds when playing your favourite tunes

As for coments about loose or wooly base from the Dynaudios you heard, I'll let you be the judge on that

Anyway it was a great day
Thanks :thumbsup::thumbsup:
