Hi guys, I ordered a bunch of coils in order to upgrade my yammies but I’ve now bottled it !! I can’t take them back as they’re a special order .
They owe me £68.00, I’ll do the lot for £50 posted ( U.K. )

I just can't bring myself to move mine away from original spec.

Ditto mate, though I have swapped out the tweeter capacitor and that did make a huge improvement.

Mine have been fully recapped to original spec.

That’s the next job for me , mids and woofers .

If these are the same coils as the ones I used then they won't alter the spec of the speakers as they are the same value and the same DCR (resistance). The only difference is that they are better quality coils and half of them are air cored instead of ferrite cored. In my experience, and I have done both, replacing the coils is more beneficial than replacing the caps. The only negative is the coils are quite a bit bigger than the originals.
Yep they are bigger Mark , I might still pluck up the courage to do .

OT for a FS thread but I'll risk it. :eyebrows:
How does one ascertain coil values on a crossover when the values are not marked/indicated? I'd like to do it on some speakers I recapped already.

I personally have no idea Edward , I just followed Mark’s ( YNWaN ) instructions on “ how to make your own ns1000m’s crossover “
Ordinarily I wouldn’t be phased by a like for like swap but in the case of these the coils are much bigger than the original ones .
Good luck [emoji1303]

With a multi-meter or meter that can read inductance values.

Baie lekker Robert. I'll do some googling and have a read of my MM manual.
If it’s a well known speaker you can often find the crossover schematic online and that will give the value of all components.
I'm sensitive that this is a FS thread (I really ought to have started a new thread elswhere).
No full schematic available Mark - long search in the past. Corelli SP1052.
GLWS with the sale Andy of your NS1000M bits.

Yep I saw/got that. In fact the cap values are wrong on that when compared to what is actually on the original SP1052. Also, as noted, no inductor values derived. Steve Bell was not able to read the values when he did the schematic.
Hope you are able to flog your NS1000m bits to Neil.
Sold, subject to the usual.
