Hi Chaps,

Resident in Hampton Hill, Middlesex in the Borough of Richmond, Greater London. Welsh by birth and affiliation.

I'm a lapsed Cyberneticist, now a consultant in the space industry.

Musical tastes are for "difficult" music - Zappa, Beefheart, Robert Wyatt, tuneless jazz, 20th century composers (especially Birtwhistle) as well as more mainstream fair - Nick Lowe a particular favourite. Listen to BBC 6 music on Sunday afternoon (Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service and Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone) and you get the idea

Semi-pro musician. Play Hammond organ (a proper one), guitar and bass in various gigging setups. Also play with generative music in my spare time and am part way through building a modular synthesiser in my home studio (OK, it's my garage).

Get particular satisfaction from inverse willy waving (as in, look how cheap I managed to get this great sound for by buying when this stuff wasn't fashionable and before ebay homogenised prices)

Current rig is Garrard 301 (30 GBP), RB300 (swapped for a rubbish valve amp), DV20X (full price, bummer), Croft Supermicro (80 GBP), Light Touch Lightspeed optical attenuator (60 GBP parts and PCBs) Leak TL25+ (25 GBP each), Heybrook Sextets (full price after being parted from my Mission 770 Mk111s by domestic pressure - the things we do for love), Leak Troughline (free with TL25s) with home made decoder.

Got this way after buying a 301 in a boot sale and comparing with my then supposed state-of-the-art LP12 Valhalla turntable. I saw the light.

Also use an Apple Airport Express to stream from uncompressed digital storage and, of course from BBC 6 music on Iplayer.

Believe that expensive interconnects only improve rubbish gear.

Hope inverse willy waving is allowable.

Other passions are (Welsh) rugby, climbing and mountaineering, astronomy and asrtophotography.

Hi Dai,
You call yourself after your willy - that's fine as long as you don't waive it. You live in Hampton Hill.
My God you're obsessed man!
