Hi folks.
As promised a long time ago in the welcome topic I am finally starting my thread.

When I joined the forum last year I owned:
Marantz PM 6010 OSE + Marantz CD 6000 OSE
Onkyo A-9211 + Onkyo DX-7111 + Onkyo TA-6511 + Onkyo T-4211 + Quadral QLX 160 (my first audio gear purchased using the money from my first real work)
Pioneer CT-S610
Sansui SE8

A lot have changed since. I no longer own anything from the above.

I have learned a lot from you all and from friends at http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php
I have also awaken my curiosity...

I am a big Onkyo fan and have also discovered "Hitachi", that I really like sonically and aesthetically.

Audio scene in Ireland is very small and I am also located far from anything so to get any experience I am trying to buy some gear in a good price to get an idea on how it sounds like and then selling if don't like it or keep it.
This behaviour lead to what is listed below:

Currently in the living room:
Onkyo P-303
Hitachi HMA-6500
Hitachi HGE-6500
Music Hall 25.2 CD
Onkyo TA-2500 Silver
Akai GX-6 Silver
Onkyo T-909
Onkyo TA-RW9090
Yamaha MDX-596
Pioneer PL-112D + AT95E

Tannoy Mercury V4

I am looking to upgrade speakers in the near future, but can't really decide on direction. So many to choose from.

There is also a PS4, Xbox 360 and Wii - I don't play much but I have two awesome daughters :)

Bedroom:
Yamaha CA-1010
Yamaha CT-1010
Yamaha TC-1000
Yamaha K-850
Logitech Audio Bluetooth

Celestion Ditton DL-6
Philips Fidelio X2

Looking for a CD player to add to this setup. Considering Yamaha CD-2.

So, there it is... Living room :)

Hey, that's a long list of Japanese gear! :)

Just looked up the Hitachi 6500 power amp - very nice power meters!!!

What sort of money are you thinking of spending on speakers?
-- and what sort of music do you want to play on them?

Pics - wanna see pics.

As for the speakers - the room is about 4x5,5m and as you can see I am finding hard to fit all of this in. Thankfully my wife have a lot of patience.
I love vintage and I was thinking about the KEF 105.2 or one of the Tannoys - Berkeley or Cheviots.
I am also on a constant look out for older Onkyo Scepters.
However I also considered going very small like KEF LS50.

It is nothing urgent as I have used up a lot of budget recently but perhaps closer to Christmas ;)

As for the music - the spectrum is pretty wide. From Lauren Hill, Sade, Snarky Puppy through classics like Dire Straits, Marcus Miller, Steely Dan, Sting to Linkin Park and Toto. Hard to narrow it down ;)

How about some not too big vintage JBLs?
I bet they would sound fab on the end of that lot!
Something like the L40 or L50.

I will take them into consideration. Thanks.

Thanks Karl. The space is in a development I have to say.
The shelving and arrangement needs to change also the fireplace is going to be removed but I am taking one step at a time.

Thanks for checking out.
