Hi all,

Its a sad day here as i am selling my Firebottle Monoblocks.

They are 90w per channel and were the very first pair ever made.

I cant recall exactly when i got these but i suspect it was about 2 years ago. Since then they have supplied me with pure joy. As with all things, times move on and i am moving on with it.

Both of the units are in perfect working order. One of the monoblocks has a small dink in the acrylic front plate which i have pictured. It is on the top edge.

They will come with some spare NOS (BVD) Mullard Valves and a spare pair of NOS Telefunkens as well as the ones pictured.

They have been well looked after and loved.

Due to weight, my preference is for collection but i can look into postage for an interested party. That would have to include postage materials too. I do have suitable packaging but postage is set at £50

Id be looking for.....

Hi Oliver
Never thought I'd see you part with your monos mate

I have got a Monarchy Class A amp here which is excellent but unfortunately the sale is motivated by the need to get the car through the MOT. I'm lucky that the Monarchy is so good that I don't feel I'm missing out too much.

I will probably buy another set down the line.

Got the badge for that one Oliver . I had to sell a very nice , top of the range , vintage Sony integrated amp when my central heating packed up a few years ago . I had to replace the complete system :(

Just get through this little blip.

Do you have a Rolls Royce?

Front discs and pads, rear drums and shoes from local Eurocarparts or others £120 and a morning of your time to fit.

4 tyres from local tyre fitters supplied and fitted max £200.

These are typical values.

Are you going to main dealer?

Come on get your hands dirty........:stalks:😂

Gary, I have a mate who looks after the cars here. He's doing the brakes for £200 all in, tyres I can get for £20 each (new) BUT both cars need an MOT and the Ford ALWAYS needs something because it's a ford lol.

Secondly, I'm massive and I don't have anything to get the motor off the floor high enough for me to get under it lol

Seriously, I'm crap at cars, I'd get the brakes off and not remember how to put them back. I'm happy for my mate to do them. He's a good lad too.

Just a quick note to thank Oliver for a hassle free transaction , top guy to deal with and he threw in some spare valves for good measure, cheers mate

As for these amps, 1st impressions are very good , trying them out with a pair of Mullards in which are new so need running in a bit. However they really sing and now I know what people mean when they say an amp "grips" the speakers. I knew the Celestion A series liked some power but they have seriously taken my compact A's to another level :eyebrows:

The detail being revealed is really something and they sound like nothing will escape them, a real scale to the music has been unveiled with an apparent but restrained power behind it. As the valves mature it should only get better , then I have the Telefunkens to try out too. :D

I hadn't realised they would be such a step change, and my 1st valvey bits in my system. :D

If you are in the market for monos at about the 1000 pound mark you should listen to these.

Cheers Andy

You are in for a treat!

Out of power leads at the moment so using my NJC Headphone amp as a pre, it has 3 output levels you can set also which has been useful for overall attenuation. When I get another lead (on order) I can use my Linn's pre outputs which will really show me what the difference is in sound.

Hi Andy,

You are more than welcome for the Valves and thanks for not trying to haggle the price down.

They really are quite something. They are so realistic at vocals and acoustic instruments that i loved them dearly. They were also very voluptuous in the bass but with plenty of grip[. I imagine these would work well with the Tannoy crowd too. And yes, i agree that detail is a strong point for these amps. They really don't do anything wrong and the better the components are around them, the better they get. I never felt any upgrade left them behind and there have been Multiple bits of kit through my door and played through them.

If you want a Pre that works incredibly well, I can wholly recommend the Khozmo Stepped Attenuator fitted to a DCB1 Board. I had this combo for a few days and if it hadn't of been for financial reasons, i would still have it as an option now.

My personal preference on the valves were the telefunken. Very clean and detailed, tight firm bass and delicious top end. Some will feel the mids need a bit of warmth but not for me. tesla will do that nicely

How refreshing is that, A buyer recognising that the asking price was already a great deal. Showing that all the generosity doesn't always have to be shown by just the seller. Obviously appreciated & rewarded by the extras being thrown in.

Maybe a lot of us could learn something.

Seems like a top deal all round. Great work fellas.

Truth is I was desperate to get my grubby mitts on them , sold mum, the missus and cat to get them in.....bargin .lol.
But seriously, they were a good price , as is a lot of kit that comes up for sale here so happy to pay the asking.

Pre amps though, thanks for the tip, but that will have to wait a while . Gonna take my time with them and evaluate for while before making any more changes.
