I’ve just upgraded a fair bit of my kit and, although it does sound extremely good (to these ears), I think that the cart could be improved upon, to get even more out of it.

I currently use a Technics EPC-202C mm cart and wonder if anybody has a ‘better’ T4P mount cart knocking about that they would like to sell ?

If not, recommendations would also be appreciated.

Thanks chaps.

That Technics EPC-202C was always considered to be a pretty excellent cartridge. I know that Jico used to do a replacement stylus for it, so that might be an avenue worth exploring.

I agree Hugh. The cartridge does have a good reputation and for good reason.

I just wonder if I can do better for sensible money. The Jico recommendation is a good one. Thank you.

Strong recco for the Shure m110he mate. I love mine, listen to it more than the epc310

Cheers for that Jake, I'll do some reading up on it.

Just seen this thread . . . a couple more options:

LPGear's AT clone (https://www.lpgear.com/product/LPGATSER05S.html) with a Shibata stylus, and an Ortofon OMP10 but get a stylus 20,30 or 40. (OMP20 etc don't seem to be available anywhere). The 10 plus a stylus 40 is an expensive route though. I'd also recommend a Jico SAS for your Technics body.

Notwithstanding YouTube sound quality, I did a LPGear v. OMP40 comparison if you're interested.
