Something new here - a wonderfully executed version of Shigaraki CD transport based on JVC boombox, from the workshop of eng. Ferenc Lazar.

I know it's crazy but it produces the best digital sounds I've ever had, together with Lampizator Amber II D/A converter.

Sound is the closest to analog and I had a number of units designed and tuned to emulate vinyl reproduction, such as Altmann DAC or TwinDAC +.

A friend who as the same, switched back to CD after many years of optimizing PC playback. This sound better.

It's made to order by eng. Ferenc Lazar who was here a subject of interest after his SUTs based on Hashimoto and Tango txs. Also an aftermarket platter for Kuzma decks.

However it depends on availability of JVC boombox parts. I will provide a contact in private to whoever wants it.

I expected something that looked DIY - that looks pretty fancy.

There is a member here, can't recall his name but he lives in Holland and builds all his own kit to amazing standards. He also built a heavily engineered CD transport using the mech from a JVC portable. Going back a few years now mind.

there's a plenty of variations on shigaraki transport. the sound quality is so good it's worth investing in good chasis, if you still have CDs it's keeper. a rumor is it's on par with CEC TL 0 that cost $17.5k 20 years ago.

I got a few inquiries about options to buy these.

They are made to order, depending on availability of JVC boombox parts. There is nothing like a serial production, lead time is about 30-45 days. Last time I spoke to Ferenc, he was building another unit. I will inform if there will be anything available in near future.
